Les oubliés climatiques – The Forgotten Victims of Climate Change
Lionel Astruc, writer, journalist & photographer, on the last day of his second visit, in as many years, to Pakistan to document the impact of climate change on Pakistan. His presentation focused on “multi vulnerabilities” : link between climate change and health issues, farmers servitude, growing insecurit, malnutrition, and moreover about why Pakistan is so hardly touched by climate injustice. In addition he presented some hope to the audience as well.
Dr. Kamran Ahmad, psychologist, philosopher, writer and activist, while commenting on and discussing with Lionel underlined the dangers of violence, abuse, radicalisation… that may stem through such crises and displacement of population. He underlined the need to prepare for any such crisis in “peace times” and prepare to cope with such crises. He also evoked the fact that such crises can be seen as an opportunity to change for the better.
The presentation and discussion was followed by the opening/vernissage of the photo exhibition by Lionel. The exhibition will continue for another two weeks and can be visited during weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm.
Not only adults but youngsters (from Headstart School Kuri Campus) enjoyed the photgraphs and discussing with Lionel.
